Early April 20025 and hardly any snow left on the Scottish mountains, even in the Cairngorms. Went looking for Ptarmigan but saw only droppings and a few feathers. Birds keeping a low profile. My only reward was the brief sighting of a mountain hare, now losing its white winter coat.
